Description

Are you looking for pre-made lessons for distance and/or blended learning? Do you want your students to keep actively making music while improving their musical literacy skills? This set for "We are dancing" prepares, presents, and practices ta and ti-ti, or quarter and eighth notes. It is in Google Slides, and includes:

  • Five mini-lessons for distance learning, which can be used consecutively or non-consecutively. These lessons include video and audio, so that students can watch and learn independently.
  • Link to a folder with all of the images, audio, and video files, so that you can import into another platform, such as Nearpod, if you'd like
  • Directions on how to share with students and how to use
  • Suggestions for other activities to include in the distance learning or blended learning lessons, such as picture books read-alouds, movement activities, and more

The lessons are as follows:

  • Lesson 1: Teach the song “We are dancing"
  • Lesson 2: Review the song “We are dancing,” show a game for “We are dancing," explore voices
  • Lesson 3: Practice steady beat and rhythm, learn “long” and “short-short” with “We are dancing”
  • Lesson 4: Learn “ta” and “ti-ti” with “We are dancing"
  • Lesson 5: Review and practice “ta” and “ti-ti” with “We are dancing"

See the preview for more information.

If you don't use "ta" and "ti-ti," there are only a few audio files that use that terminology, so you could record a few short audio files and replace those.

I hope this is helpful as you plan for the fall, whether you will be in-person with regulations, or distance learning.
