Ring. . . Ring. . . Ring. Pick up! Pickup this packet of two activities for Stephen King's classic teleplay "Sorry, Right Number" and save yourself some serious time! First, your students will complete the included pre-reading activity by researching Stephen King, his classics, as well as some pop culture circa the 1990s which will give them a great foundation for reading the teleplay. This pre-reading activity is designed for use with technology (laptops, ipads, etc. . .). After reading the teleplay, students will complete the included close reading activity which focuses on the ample visual symbolism in teleplay (no technology needed). Students evaluate how close-ups in the teleplay communicate important events and create suspense. Finally, students speculate about why a teleplay is the most effective medium for this story. These flexible activities can be used as individual activities, or even as small group work.
