Sort City is a colorful reproducible activity for independent practice. Reproduce on card stock and laminate for durability. Cut apart and store in labeled envelopes or containers. Use in a literacy center with a pocket chart and headings for each rime. I would suggest no more than two or three word families at a time, especially for beginning readers. Students may also sort and match the cards at their seats.
Sort pictures only (for phonemic awareness)
Make multiple sets and play concentration or Go Fish.
