Here is an engaging activity for your animal unit in Spanish! This activity has 40 beautiful, real animal photographs for your students to sort by their characteristics. Each animal card is labeled with the animal's name. There is a wide range of animals included in this set:
*cebra, gorila, orangutan, jirafa, zorro, lobo, leopardo, chimpance, leon, hipopotamo, oso polar, rinoceronte, tigre, elefante, oso, camello, pelicano, aguila calva, buitre, buho, ganso, pato, pollo, pajaro, cocodrilo, serpiente, tortuga, lagarto, manati, ballena, estrella de mar, medusa, foca, morsa, cangrejo, orca, pez, camaron, tiburon, pulpo.
I have provided 5 different ways to sort the cards based on their characteristics: number of legs, type of covering, their mode of transportation (fly, walk, or swim), wings/no wings, and tails/no tails.
After sorting by characteristics, your students can play the game, "how am I the same?" Draw 2 random cards and decide what characteristics are similar (for example, a goose and a walrus: both animals can swim in the water or both animals have 2 legs or both animals have a tail). Students can choose a card, then find a buddy, and decide together what their 2 animals have in common. These are great ways for students to become aware of animals and their characteristics.
