This activity reviews the use of a Venn Diagram, including one more complex piece not always taught in younger grades. If a shape does not belong on the left, middle, or center of the Venn Diagram, it can be placed outside of the Venn Diagram, indicating that it shares neither characteristic.
The first slide reviews the parts of a Venn Diagram.
The second, third, and fourth slides have shapes that can be dragged into the correct places on a Venn Diagram.
The fifth and sixth slides have Venn Diagrams that can be printed out so students can sort pattern blocks according to their properties.
