This unit on SORTING includes everything you will need, from the suggested read-aloud introduction to the final student assessment. The concept covered include organizing objects into categories by sorting (individual groups and Venn diagrams) and classifying them according to their attributes. Meets the Requirements of the Ontario Data Literacy curriculum (sort sets of data about people or things according to two attributes (e.g., sort attribute blocks by colour and shape at the same time)). The unit can be used in either colour or black and white.

The Unit includes:

· Curriculum overall and specific statements for classroom display

· “I Can” statements

· Day-by-day description of lesson to be taught

· Description of hands on activities for the students

· Activity sheets that reinforce concepts taught

· Answer sheets

· Read aloud suggestion
