These sound boxes consist of a simple structure to 'sound out' words from 2 to 5 sounds. You can cut out and use the boards independently or in a group. You can slip the sheet beneath a report cover or sheet protector and use a wet erase marker to write your own words. The child can also practice breaking up words into their phonemes. Use a colored counter to cover each box, then have the child 'push' the counter up and expose the phoneme and say the sound. This leads directly to 'sounding out' words.
