Sound boxes are a great way for emergent readers to practice the sound each letter makes.
This flipchart contains 10 slides of sound boxes for working on phonemic awareness. The last slide has been left blank for you to add your own word ideas. They are all 3 boxes color coded for beginning, middle, ending.
**Make sure you are not in design mode. As you click each box the letter will appear/disappear.
To differentiate, you may ask students questions such as, "What sound do you hear in the third box?" "What letter makes that sound?" "What sound do you hear at the beginning of the word?" "What vowel sound do you hear?" "Is this a short vowel sound or a long vowel sound?" "How do you know?"
