Product Description

This is a specially bundled collection of 7 of my most popular projects that center around sound design and music in film. You'll get 7 printable Project Packets including student instructions, a worksheet (for most projects), a rubric, as well as comprehensive resources for the teacher.

These projects are pulled from different bundles in my store including my 12 Project Bundle, Worksheet Bundle, and my Seasonal Bundle.

Note: Although two projects come from my seasonal bundle, they can really be done at any time of the year.

I also have available a growing Mega Bundle with all projects and worksheets from my store - as well as a curriculum map with standards. Perfect for those who teach a 1-2 year long music technology program. Its a HUGE value and contains literally everything you need to teach a year-long (or longer) music tech course.

More Details:
While these are not exactly formal lesson plans, they can easily be transformed into such with the addition of standards and a few other tweaks. Really, it’s a collection of project ideas that can be adapted for many different situations or uses.

These projects do require you to understand how to use a DAW, so if this is a new topic for you, you'll probably need to study up on some of the basics. But don't be overwhelmed, you don’t need to be a pro to begin teaching these lessons. I wasn’t when I started. You’ll learn with the students as you progress. Each project is sequential; they start with the basic functions of the DAW and move toward more advanced features.

The lessons have been created for use with GarageBand, but if you choose to use a different DAW, the general concept for each project will still apply. As long as your DAW supports video they will work just fine.

Each project is very comprehensive and includes a “project details sheet” that can be printed and given to students, as well as a worksheet (if applicable).

For every project, the project details sheet will include the following:

  • a basic overview of what the project will be
  • the list of skills that will be learned (here’s where you can easily add standards)
  • a step-by-step of how to accomplish the project
  • a list of requirements to earn full credit
  • a “tips and tricks” section designed to help students with common mistakes, challenges, etc. which I’ve encountered after teaching these projects for many years
  • On a separate page you’ll find:
  • a rubric that can be easily customized
  • a “teacher to teacher” section designed to help the instructor effectively communicate and teach the project. Here I explain some common issues I’ve run into in the past and ways I’ve found to help students be more successful.
