Turn your students into audio engineers as they participate in this game of sound production. This activity provides students with a chance to practice communicating skills using sound. Students work as partners in a group of four to draw a card of a common sound. Then they must make that sound while their partner tries to identify it. Both teams write the name of the sound made and describe how it was produced. This lesson includes teacher instructions, rubric for scoring, recording page, sound cards, student examples, and an extended writing page.
This lesson is included in the book Rising to the Challenge of the National Science Education Standards, also sold on this website. This is lesson two in a packet of packet of nine process skill lessons with sound.
