“Sound Punch Out” is an activity to motivate students to work on articulation and/or phonological awareness skills. Students are given a bookmark with the letter of the sound that they are learning. Each time they complete a task, they punch out one of the dots with a paper hole punch. They could also color in the dots with markers.
There are bookmarks for the consonant sounds: B, F, G, J, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, T, V, W, and Z. Also included are bookmarks with the numbers, 2, 3, and 4, for work on multisyllabic words. Each bookmark has 20 dots.
These also make good homework and classroom carry-over activities. Place the bookmark in the student’s reading text. While reading aloud, the student marks off dots for each correct sound production.
Hope your students tackle those speech sound errors and “punch ‘em out!”
