am always trying to think of fun ways to engage my kids with phonics and they love these sound slides! Our school is big on synthetic phonics and children are encouraged to listen for all phonemes in words when spelling.
I took a photo of each student on a chair pretending to go down a slide. I then printed them off and cut around them and laminated them. They then use the picture of themselves to go down the 'sound slide' and sound out their given word. They 'slide' through the word sounding out all phonemes. They then write their word in a the boxes underneath - 1 phoneme per box.
They enjoy they hands on aspect of sliding 'themselves' down the slide!
