This teacher created lab sheet provides guided instruction for students to complete the Interactive Glencoe Science Online Virtual Lab on SOUND WAVES. Have students learn about the use of an oscilloscope while playing an online trombone at different lengths to explore how the qualities of the sound wave change as the size of the instrument increases. Students will observe and record the associated wavelength for each wave and calculate it's frequency using the provided formula while evaluating which musical note has been played.
