Your students will have fun observing and discovering sound characteristics through this internet search. Students use a specified website to observe sound waves and molecules. Through observation, they discover that sound travels faster through a solid than gas. They also observe sound waves on an oscilloscope and are require to draw their own sound waves. In addition, they realize that a greater force on an object will create a greater sound. The final discovery is that there is no sound in a vacuum because there is no air. My fifth grade students were able to independently complete this activity but can also be completed as a group. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY STORE. I BUNDLED THIS INTO A WHOLE SOUND UNIT.
Note: Website works best on computers, not ipads.
