A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury Figurative Language Board Game and Quiz
Do your students have difficulty understanding and identifying figurative language like simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, oxymoron and allusion? If they do, don't just give them another boring worksheet. Give them this board game that focuses on these six types of figurative language found in, the classic short story, A Sound of Thunder, by Ray Bradbury. There is also a quiz to give your class to assess their learning after the game.
This game board contains 23 examples of the actual figurative language found in the two story. Students are asked to identify the type of figurative language and are given bonus points for interpreting the meaning of each phrase.
My kids had fun and made more progress at understanding these concepts because they learned from each other and had fun while playing this game. Your kids will love it too.
I have included an answer board as well as Word and PDF versions of this game board.
