This interactive word wall is a great tool for readers and writers of any age! It is especially useful for the primary grades and English Language Learners!
Print out the word wall cards and corresponding example words on thick card stock. Use magnetic tape to create the word wall on a magnetic surface. Allow students to use the words when they read or write. You can also add your own words by printing out the blank cards.
Introduce the “Sound of the Week” as you would word wall words or other weekly routines. Choose a nursery rhyme, poem or short story that features the sound prominently. Have students underline the letters that make the sound. Refer to the sound/spelling word wall as students are sounding out words in reading or writing.
I think that you will find this to be a helpful classroom tool!
