This set of activities introduces the students to the number of sounds in a word. The activity starts off with the basic skills of sounding out three letter words. There is a differentiated activity included that provides the middle sound of each word. There are four activities that focus on sounding out three letter words. As the students' skills advance, there is an activity following the same format sounding out four letter words. These activities are also differentiated to meet the needs of your students. There are four activities for this as well. As the students continue practicing this skill, the students eventually use their sight words to complete the sentence and then sound out the last word to match the picture provided. There are two activities using three letter sounds with two differentiated activities, as well as two activities using four letter sounds with two differentiated activities.
