This is a high interest project that focuses on citing evidence. Students select songs that are important to them or have a special meaning. They then use the song lyrics to practice citing evidence using by paraphrasing and quoting directly. It is an engaging project that encompasses the Common Core State Standards. It can be used for a performance task or summative assessment.
