A Syllable Game
Each child will have a game board. Children will take turns drawing a card that has a picture on it. The child will say the word and tell how many syllables are in it. Then they will cover the lemon with the leaf that tells how many syllables are in the word. I use yellow unifix cubes or yellow stackers to cover with. If they don’t have a lemon with the number needed, they lose a turn.
Lemons! Lemons! Yahoo! You can take 2. They will take 2 more picture cards from the deck.
Lemon Squeeze! Oh! No! 2 Lemons must go! They will take 2 markers off their game board.
The child that covers their board first wins.
