Here is a task I created for a Year 9 History class based on the Australian Curriculum unit on Movement of Peoples.
Of course, this can be used in any high school context where slavery and convict movement is the focus.
The task requires students to analyse and compare sources relating to slaves and convicts. This can be done as a summative test, which I would recommend giving students at least 40 minutes to complete (you know who your students are). Or, this can be a formative task to see the already existing skills your students have in analysing sources and then go from there.
