Standard: SS 3-5.2 and 3-5.3
This set includes:
♦ Thorough presentation starts with the meaning of migration and the difference between immigration and emigration. Then, it moves into the "pushes" and "pulls" of the Great Migration and the internal migrations in the state from the rural areas to the mill towns and larger cities. We then go into the Great Depression, the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the "New Deal" and Roosevelt's goals and purpose behind it, the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), and the problems with discrimination with the "New Deal" programs. We then end with the end of the Great Depression as World War II begins.
♦Assessments with the aspects of the Great Migration (Who?, Pushes?, Pulls?, and Where to Where?), and response questions about the migration within the state, and the development of larger cities & towns. Also a fill in for the "cycle" of the progress with the "New Deal," response questions on the Great Depression, and an extended response about the goals of the "New Deal."
♦ Three way vocabulary cards for matching, study, or memory game
♦ Keys for the assessments
This is a great set if you teach South Carolina history and covers all of the material in the related standards and highlights from the support documents.
When using the PDF as a presentation, make sure to go to "View" and then to "Full Screen". It will show just like a PowerPoint!
