Thorough presentation starts with the meaning of migration and the difference between immigration and emigration. Then, it moves into the "pushes" and "pulls" of the Great Migration and the internal migrations in the state from the rural areas to the mill towns and larger cities. We then go into the Great Depression, the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the "New Deal" and Roosevelt's goals and purpose behind it, the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), and the problems with discrimination with the "New Deal" programs. We then end with the end of the Great Depression as World War II begins.
Includes discussion questions at the end of the presentation!
