This is a great paired-reading worksheet that uses the CLOZE Notes strategy. Students use the two versions (A and B) of the reading to fill in the blanks on their own sheet.
A one sentence example is below:
Farms and _______ were in ruins, old trading patterns with _____________ and her Caribbean colonies had been broken, ____% of the labor force had been stolen by the British, and the bitterness caused by the nature of the conflict still remained.
_________ and plantations were in ruins, old trading patterns with Great Britain and her _____________ colonies had been broken, 25% of the labor force had been stolen by the British, and the __________ caused by the nature of the conflict still remained.
Working together, they are able to complete the reading. Each page has approximately twenty-five blanks that need to be filled in.
