The Cultures of the Catawba, Cherokee, and Yameasse Tribes Perspective Activity
The goal of this activity is for students to experience the lifestyle of the Catawba, Cherokee, and Yameasse Indians. Students will research one of the tribes and write from the perspective as if there were a part of that tribe. Students will be challenged to include historical evidence, unique to their specific tribe culture, to make their account as realistic as possible. Students will have the opportunity to create a self-portrait to that reflects themselves as a true member of their tribe.
