If you teach about South Carolina, this booklet is a great way to introduce some symbols from our state. You can use this book as an introduction into the year of state history, as a wrap up for the year, or as a fun extra activity!
The booklet and presentation covers:
* Your county ( color and label in on the map )
* Columbia, the capital ( star and label on the map )
* state flag (background about design)
* state bird - Carolina wren
* state flower - yellow jessamine
* other state symbols: state fruit, state "hospitality" drink, state animal, state reptile, state dance, state butterfly, state vegetable, and state gemstone
* state quarter
* state seal
♦ "My South Carolina Book" in TWO versions, one with a color cover, one with a black and white cover. The pages are printed back to back and only require two pieces of paper to create one booklet! Printing instructions are included to help guide you. Some topics require coloring, some have questions that can be answered using the presentation included!
♦ Booklet Assembly Presentation - if you want to print the pages and have your students trim and assemble the books, this step by step presentation will help guide them. It is a simple process, but having the students assemble and staple takes a lot off of your plate!
♦ "South Carolina Symbols" Presentation - this presentation guides the students through the booklet giving them information they need to fill out the booklet as they go. Color photos are included!
♦ Teacher notes about the booklet as well as a "key"
I'm sure your students will enjoy this book as much as mine did!
Please note that the presentations are in PDF format. The slides advance just as a PowerPoint presentation would, and even work with remotes. To view as a slide show go to View > Full Screen. To advance, simply click the mouse or remote just as you would with a PowerPoint. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me at email@example.com!
