I think I have as much fun as my students with this 3-5 day Space Camp in my classroom. I have included my lesson outline so it's easy to follow. It requires very little prep but has a lot of learning about the Moon and Planets in our Solar System.
Here's what's included:
-Astronaut Training Manual with easy to do experiments: draw under desk, dizzy spin, gravity drop with a feather, meal planning in space, and early finisher activities.
-Astronaut Lanyard for students to check-off activities as they complete each activity
-Informational astronaut tab book
-Vocabulary and definitions
-Team Signs with Camp Titles
-Team assignments and directions for STEM
-STEM rocket building and launching (paper, tape, and straws)
-STEM spacecraft building and landing (string, tape, and a plastic cup)
-Fact and Opinion Moon cut and sort
-Moon opinion writing
-Planet informational layer book in color and black and white versions
-Planet ordering worksheet
-Planet ordering optional quiz
-Planet informational cards for art project or game playing
-Classroom decoration planets
I bought star stickers for students to put on their lanyards as they completed each activity. They were totally motivated to do the assignments. I can't wait to do this again next year!
