Included in this set are five labs designed to meet the NGSS first grade standards for space:
-Use observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe patterns that can be predicted.
-Read texts and use media to determine patterns in behavior of parents and offspring that help offspring survive.
-Make observations at different times of year to relate the amount of daylight to the time of year.
The labs included are as follows:
-Observing the Sky
-Practice Your Orbit
-Our Changing Moon
-Daylight Hours Data Analysis
All of the labs are hands-on and first grade friendly. The labs require some materials, but most of them are common classroom objects such as glue and chalk. The labs can be completed in groups, individually, in pairs, or as a whole group depending on your specific classroom needs. Each lab includes the materials needed, directions, and reflection questions. Some labs also have data sheets and activity sheets where needed.
