The Space Land Board Game provides a fun way for students to practice decoding and reading CVC words. The student chooses a card. If he or she can decode or read the CVC word, then he or she can move his or her piece to the space shown on the card.
To create the game, print the two sides of the game board and glue them inside a file folder so they line up. Laminate the folder and the cards. Cut the cards out and put them in a baggie with the folder. That's it!
There are two boards included in the file. One board uses just the color cards and the other board includes specialty cards that move the student to different areas of the board.
The file includes:
2 game boards
168 CVC word/color cards
4 specialty cards
File Folder Cover and Label
In my classroom, we use frog or dinosaur counters as the pieces.
