Space Race Timeline and NASA Chart Analysis
are two assignments or one. The first, a timeline, guides students through the progress of the U.S. and Soviet Union’s space programs during the Cold War. The second handout challenges students to analyze two charts/graphs on NASA’s budgets from 1958 to 2012. Students will identify the correlation between NASA’s spending budget and their efforts to go to the moon. These can be used as one assignment or two separate, just print them separate or double sided. Also, these can be used as homework or as substitute teacher plans, as no other resources are needed. A key is included.
