Space Systems: Patterns and Cycles is a MEGA unit that has been aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards. Once completing this unit, students will be able to describe patterns that can be predicted in the Sun, the Moon, and the stars.

Page 5: Space Pattern and Cycles that will be taught throughout this unit: The Sun appears to rise and set each day: the Sun’s position changes shadows from long in the morning to short in the afternoon, to long in the evening; the Moon appears to change shapes in a pattern called Moon Phases; the Moon appears to rise and set in a pattern each day; stars can be seen at night, but not during the day.
Pages 6-15: Vocabulary/Learning Cards: vocabulary cards that can be put on a ring or displayed in the room. Each card contains a QR Code that students can scan and watch a short video regarding that particular word.
