This fun craft is a solar system mobile. It can be used as part of a unit about space. Each planet can be colored in, cut out, and then stuck on a string hanging under the sun. Two versions available, picture only and a version with lines for students to write key words on the back of the planet. Two sizes are also included. The large versions are good for a shared group project. The smaller versions are suitable for individual projects although cutting and writing on the smaller planets requires more manual dexterity.
Print on A4 thin card.
Cut out 4 sun circles. And stick back to back in pairs.
Cut the slits.
Slot the 2 circles together to create a 3D sun.
Fasten a length of string (approx 2m) to the base of sun.
Cut out each planet pair and stick back to back sandwiching the string in between.
