The following pages contain activities that can help your students to learn about the planets in the solar system. The following pages that contain the jumbo sized planet names will need to be printed out. Then, you need to create paper headbands (just strips of paper stapled together to encircle the head). When you’ve made the headbands, these will go on your student’s heads and you will add the planet names to them so that the student wearing the headband can’t see what planet name they are wearing, but everyone else in their group can. NOTE: Groups shouldn’t be larger than four, so print out these planet names for each group you will have. Once the students in the group are all wearing their paper headband with a planet name on it, the game play begins. Each student will roll a die. The highest number will go first. This student must ask yes or no questions to help him or her figure out what planet they are. I have included a page of question suggestions. You will need to print off one of these for each group as well. I have also included a chart that you can give the students to fill out prior to this activity to help them understand the features of each planet. I’ve included the answer key to accompany this as well. This game works well as an activity to assess their knowledge of the planets and its fun! Enjoy!
