This document is 4 pages long, two student pages and two teacher pages with expected student outcomes. This activity serves to reinforce the SSS and SAS Congruency Statements through hands on manipulations of pasta. This activity requires the use of the worksheet, one piece of spaghetti per student, a protractor and a writing utensil. It also requires students to work in pairs as a cooperative learning activity to determine if their individual triangles are congruent. Further, this activity strengthens students measurement skills and related analysis of error due to measurement.
I used math type for some portions of this activity so if you do not have math type there is a possibility that some of the symbols will not display correctly. If you experience difficulty, I am happy to send you a pdf version of the document. Just send me an email!
CCSS Math Content.HSG-CO.B.7 Use the definition of congruence in terms of rigid motions to show that two triangles are congruent if and only if corresponding pairs of sides and corresponding pairs of angles are congruent.
