A great literacy center activity! Cut many pieces of yellow wool and place them in a plastic bowl. This wool is ‘pretend spaghetti’ and the perfect companion to these juicy meatballs. Place the spaghetti (wool) and meatballs in a bowl and stir. Players take turns scooping out one meatball at a time, using their hands or a noodle scoop. Players record the word on their work sheet. When all circles are complete they can read the words to a friend, teacher etc.
Note: This game contains a first grade and second grade word set. Depending on the size of your bowl it may be best to separate the sets to avoid too many meatballs in your spaghetti.
This game could also be played in a small group without the recording sheet. Players could just scoop and identify the letter in front of the group.
THIS GAME ALSO COMES IN OTHER ALTERNATIVE SIGHT WORD SETS (DOLCH, MAGIC 100 WORDS, FRY ETC)
