This includes three lists, separated by level of Spanish, of 36 key phrases that Spanish students will need and want to learn to actually SPEAK the language. The Spanish 1 list includes common phrases they can begin using immediately and is limited to only the present tense. The Spanish 2 list is a little more complex and uses several different tenses. Some of the phrases on that list could also be adapted to allow students to choose the tense they would like for conjugating the verb in the phrase. Finally, the Spanish 3 list includes idiomatic expressions to help them sound like native speakers! These are phrases that are usually not explicitly taught by our curriculums or textbooks, but that we try to incorporate into our classes as we develop real speakers of Spanish. I give my students one a week to use in authentic ways to earn tickets towards our Friday Ticket Drawing. I included a description with more details on how I use these phrases of the week, but feel free to use them in your own creative way, too!
I also have a list for Spanish 1, a list for Spanish 2, and a list for Spanish 3, if you are only looking for one level.
