I've used this activity for several years in class, and students always love it! This is a great way to practice -AR present tense verbs, as well as reviewing SER and TENER.
Students roll dice to determine the subject and infinitive, then they conjugate the verb. Working with partners, this is a great way for students to practice and understand how conjugation works. I've let students pick their own partners before (no more than 3 in a group works best). Sometimes, I've predetermined the groups so that there is an "expert" in each group that can help re-teach to the others.
The back side of the worksheet takes this practice to another level and students work by themselves. They will use a subject and a conjugated verb from the front, then they will add 3-5 more words to make a more interesting sentence.
You can grade this however you like, but I usually only grade the back side (the final product). I tell them in advance that they get one point for using the correct verb conjugation (which really forces them to pay attention during group work) and then they get one point if the additional words are logical with the first half of the sentence.
Students will be able to complete the front in small groups within 20 minutes. Students may need to complete the backside outside of class for homework. No answer key is included as final answers may vary.
