This is the fourth lesson of my new student-led learning series
called Figure Out!
This is Figure Out: -ER Present Tense Verbs!
and is aimed toward Spanish 1 students. Save money
with the Figure Out: Spanish 1 Bundle!
These activities are used to introduce a new verb tense.
In this case, it's -ER Present Tense Verbs.
The concept behind the Figure Out! series is that students will completely teach themselves the new tense including:
1) how to form regular -ER present tense verbs
2) how to practice and write sentence with regular -ER present tense verbs
I suggest handing this activity out and explaining to students that they must use the clues within the text (in this case, a letter written to a friend), to figure out how to form -ER present tense verbs.
The second half of the activity includes writing complete sentences with -ER present tense verbs.
Note: Two versions of the letter are provided
- the first has the conjugated -ER verbs underlined to help students, and the second does NOT have the conjugated -ER verbs underlined. These two versions will allow for differentiation in your classroom
if you have students working at various levels.
An answer key is included.
This is a fantastic, interactive way to have students take ownership in their learning and teach themselves the new verb tense.
I promise you that you'll be amazed with how many connections students will be able to make as they read this activity and complete the activities.
