A fun, engaging and interactive story to introduce students to basic Spanish phrases. Stay in the target language for the entire class period with this and other TPRS stories! Included is a cloze reading activity for students (with word bank) and a key for the instructor. The story contains key vocabulary for a "Mucho gusto" unit for Spanish 1 or Exploratory Spanish; phrases such as saying your name, asking and telling your age, birthday, where you're from and how you are doing. 1. Wide use of buses and public transportation in Spain and other Spanish speaking countries
2. Capitals of Spanish speaking countries. As part of a three-day unit, have students act out the story in groups on the last day, but ask students to change the capital city mentioned from Madrid to another Spanish speaking country and capital. This makes the presentations a listening activity for the other students.
