This pack contains 10 different stories that I use when teaching Spanish 1 along with the Descubre 1 textbook, although they could be used with any Spanish 1 book or curriculum. Each story is funny and appeals to middle school and high school students, and embeds the most important grammar and vocabulary for that topic and chapter. The stories can be used in the following ways: act out, read for understanding, retell, rewrite, modify the ending, write sequels to, etc. It comes with a list of vocabulary words I suggest you teach for it to work and a list of grammar topics you can use the story to start teaching.
Each of these stories is available for purchase separately on my store, so if you need more information about the grammar and vocabulary in each please look there or ask :) The readings cover the traditional grammar concepts typically taught in Spanish 1. Also, if you would like see what a sample story looks like, please look under my free downloads to see the story "The girl goes shopping." (This is a Spanish 2 story).
2 stories I use at the beginning of the year, about the school experience, with basic high frequency verbs (these assume students have no other knowledge except the words I teach with these stories) (The New Student, The Principal's Office)
2 stories I use with Descubre 1 Leccion 2 about school (The Bad Influence and The Teacher Laughs)
2 stories I use with Descubre 1 Leccion 3 about family (Flowers for Mom and A Girlfriend for Rafael)
2 stories I use with Descubre 1 Leccion 4 about activities and places in town (A Dog at the Movies and Sofia the Winner)
2 stories I use with Descubre 1 Leccion 5 about travel (The Boy that Doesn't Travel and Perspective is Everything)
