About this Resource:
Speaking is the hardest part of learning any language, and research shows that students of an L2 need plenty of input to produce quality output. Before they are ready to speak, they need plenty of examples. The Novice to Intermediate level Can-Do statements for ACTFL emphasize the reliance on memorized phrases to accomplish tasks. Your students will produce better output when they are exposed to plenty of comprehensible input! Show your students great examples of how to answer, and they will amaze you with what creative and original language they are able to produce when shown enough examples.
This is a final exam that is fair and communicative, and fully prepares the students for the task. This set of activities is versatile and could also be used as a unit exam if used in pieces.
If you’re short on review time, this is the activity set for you. If you need a ready-to-use final speaking exam with activities and student handouts, this is the activity set for you. Over a week of instructional materials included. If your curriculum does not exactly match up, these are also designed to be used "a la carte" and can work as unit reviews.
How To Use:
This review packet starts off with input-based activities, having students interpret the questions for meaning and matching them up with possible answers. The visually appealing question cards expose students to simple answers, written with comprehensible input accessible to novice mid-high learners, and designed for students to only be able to match up each question to one answer.
Included with the cards is a detailed explanation of ideas for how to use in station rotations, comprehension checks, and speaking and listening activities.
