This is a very detailed project for Spanish 3+ students.
For this project, students pretend that they are famous Spaniards, using the "yo" form in their essays and oral presentations. Students include basic demographics, historical/current context of the famous person's profession in Spain, important events in their life, their childhood, how they became famous, etc.
The grammatical focus for this project is preterite vs. imperfect verbs.
I had also asked my students to tie in the adjectives vocabulary from the Expresate 2 text, Chapter 6. You can edit that part out if you would like.
This extensive project includes:
1) a project description
(including requirements for the research, essay, visual component and oral presentation, and activity/puzzle for their classmates to complete during presentations)
2) a suggested timeline
of due dates
3) a note sheet for research
4) an extensive peer-editing activity
5) a suggested list of famous Spaniards
with a variety of professions (authors, actors, athletes, architects, political figures, etc.)
This document is a Word document that can be edited
to fit the specific needs of your classroom. You may want to change some of the details. For example, I always have my students complete their project on Google Drive, but you may prefer different formats in your class.
This project also includes a list of the associated CCSS ELA and ACTFL standards.
