This is a very detailed project for Spanish 3+ students.
For this partner project, students pretend that they are living in Puerto Rico and want friends to come visit.
Students need to research and describe travel accommodations, the normal weather for that time of year, and a specific 4 day itinerary. Throughout the letter, students need to ask questions about previous travel experiences using the present perfect, talk about what they will do for the four days with the future tense, and finally include wishes and suggestions with the subjunctive tense.
They then present their letter to the class.
The grammatical focus for this project is present perfect , future, and present subjunctive.
I had also asked my students to tie in the travel and weather vocabulary from the Expresate 2 text, Chapter 9 and 10.
This extensive project includes:
1) a project description
(including requirements for the research, essay, visual component and oral presentation, and travel pamphlet extra credit idea)
2) a suggested timeline
of due dates
3) an example essay
4) a note sheet for research
5) a suggested rubric
This document is a Word document that can be edited
to fit the specific needs of your classroom. You may want to change some of the details. For example, I always have my students complete their project on Google Drive, but you may prefer different formats in your class. I highlighted some parts in yellow that you will have to adapt for your class.
My students have always loved this project.
This project also includes a list of the associated ACTFL standards.
