This is a very detailed project for Spanish 3+ students.
For this project, students pretend that they visit a restaurant that serves food from the Spanish-speaking world. They then present a recipe from their favorite dish to the class.
The grammatical focus for this project is "ustedes commands" and adverbs.
I had also asked my students to tie in the cooking vocabulary from the Expresate 2 text, Chapter 7. You can edit that part out if you would like.
This extensive project includes:
1) a project description
(including requirements for the research, essay, visual component and oral presentation, and recipe card for their classmates)
2) a suggested timeline
of due dates
3) an example essay and recipe
4) a note sheet for research
5) a list of useful cooking vocabulary
6) suggested rubrics
for the essay and presentation
This document is a Word document that can be edited
to fit the specific needs of your classroom. You may want to change some of the details. For example, I always have my students complete their project on Google Drive, but you may prefer different formats in your class. I highlighted the parts in yellow that you will have to adapt for your class.
My students have always loved this project. I offer extra credit if they bring in the dish that they present the recipe for.
This project also includes a list of the associated CCSS ELA and ACTFL standards.
