In the first activity, students complete a two page webquest (entirely in Spanish) about Three Kings Day. Students research what the holiday is all about, how it compares to Santa Claus traditions, and more! Two websites are included for students.
In the second activity, students use given phrases to write wishes for the New Year using the present subjunctive. In the second part, students decide if the given phrases should use the indicative or subjunctive mood and write complete sentences.
In the third activity, students write a letter to Santa Claus asking for various personality traits for the following year. This one is always a real tearjerker - students truly reflect on what traits would improve their lives. There is an emphasis on "por" and "para."
Finally, in the fourth activity students receive a card from the "12 Days of Christmas song" (e.g., five golden rings) and interview classmates using double object pronouns and ordinal numbers. This is great practice for pronouns! Students rewrite the information in various ways to continue practicing.
