This unit includes TWO school weeks of 55-minute day-by-day lesson plans!

This unit is recently updated with more recent technology vocabulary. Students will also learn about impersonal expressions (it's necessary, it's important, etc) and use them to express their opinion on technology and its importance.

Student notes and guided notes on tech vocabulary and verbs and impersonal expressions

There is also a practice that has students express their opinion of various technological services like WiFi and laptops.

The readings on cell phones illustrate how important the devices are to our society. They contrast to my "Serálulec" reading which speaks against the need for them. Please note, the "Serálulec reading is a spoof. I took words like "celulares, euros, apps, textos, and reversed the letters claiming they are vocabulary words to the indigenous "Enadlah" which is my school's name spelled backward. Substitute your school for mine and see if your students figure out the game before they finish the article.

Once we've read the articles and readings, I assign the compare and contrast essay where students state their opinion and support it with either the article or the reading. Then they present the opposing side and refute it. Organizers and evidence grids are provided for planning and there is a rubric also.

The pictures I use for daily student speaking are included.
