Students love playing "buque de guerra" as they conjugate AR verbs in the present tense. Print out the game board and fold in half "hamburger style." Have students place them back to back on a desk and staple the tops together to make easy battleship boards. Each student marks their boats by placing X's in the squares to create boats. I usually have them use 4 boats (XX, XXX, XXXX, XXXXX) placed either horizontally or vertically.
Students choose a verb and a subject and use the conjugated verb instead of saying "B3," etc. (Yo bailo.) If the student conjugates the verb correctly their partner tells them if they hit (acertaste) or missed (fallaste) and marks his/her card accordingly on the bottom portion. If he/she conjugates the verb incorrectly, they lose their turn.
AR verbs pictured include: montar en bici, usar la computadora, pasar tiempo con amigos, bailar, nadar, hablar por teléfono and mirar la tele.
Easy setup and the kids LOVE playing it!
