This unit follows Grade 1 Reading Standards: Foundational Skills Acentuacion 1.c. Reconocen que el acento escrito indica a veces un significado distinto en palabras que se escriben con las mismas letras en ese caso se llama acento diacritico.
I have included an anchor chart that you can use to teach el acento diacritico. I know that there are other words under this category and I will add these in the near future.
Also included are four exit slips that I used to assess my students as they left for recess/lunch. They highlighted their answers with a yellow crayon.
The last handouts are so students can write their own sentences using these words. They highlight the correct word used in their sentence. Or you can give them the word you would like for them to use in a sentence.
Sequence of my lesson throughout the week:
Monday: I taught the lesson and handed out an exit slip.
Tuesday: We reviewed the chart and handed out an exit slip.
Wednesday: We reviewed the chart, practiced with other sentences using their white boards and exit slip.
Thursday: We reviewed the chart, practiced with other sentences using their white boards and exit slip.
Friday: They wrote their own sentences using one of the words given by me. This was a difficult task for them. :)
Please send me a note, if you have any questions.
