This game is intended to help kids understand when to use el, la, los, las and also how to use adjectives with nouns. There are two pages of singular and plural nouns, and six colored sentence cards for the kids to plug each noun into. Such as, if they choose the noun “La flor”, they would put it under the sentence that reads, “La ______ es roja,” and they would read the sentence or come up with a sentence of their own, before passing the noun cards to the next player. It is ideal to use as teacher-directed instruction on overhead projector or in small group: review vocabulary, ask children to sort nouns into the proper categories on the white board with magnets. After the procedure is taught kids can work cooperatively in groups to cut the cards apart, color all the pictures on the cards the same color, and put them all into a container, cup, or tissue box to be passed around. Kids can then take turns playing the game independently, in pairs, or in groups.
