This is an A/B activity. I like these activities because they incorporate speaking, listening, and writing in a fairly short activity after you have introduced and practice the vocabulary for a bit.
A/B This means 1) students work in pairs. 2) they each have the questions that they ask to their partner (in this case pretending to find out information about their host family in the Costa Rica) 3) they each have the answers they must give their partners (but the partners do not see the answers, they must listen for and write down the responses they hear.)
The directions are given on the preview as well as the answer sheet for "Estudiante A".
If you have an odd number of students, simply have an A and 2 B's and allow the B's to take turns answering and asking.
This activity is great because it is a speaking, listening, and writing activity.
Since it is a word file, you could substitute adjectives that you would prefer to highlight.
