Manzanas a Manzanas is a fun way for students to learn some new adjectives and is also a great way to build relationships among students as a big part of being successful at this game is knowing your opponents and their sense of humor.
All of the adjectives in this game are cognates so that students of any level will not have difficulty deciphering the Spanish. I have included a mix of cognates and pop culture references for the nouns (red apple cards). This activity can be left for a sub, used to review adjectives, or used on a "fun/decompress day" (like during state testing, or right before a break). Can be played anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
-Instructions for setup and game play
-Apple card template
-72 prepared green apple cards + 12 blank cards (you or your students can add your own adjectives)
-156 prepared red apple cards + 12 blank cards (you or your students can add your own nouns)
In most cases you will find that many of your students are familiar with the English version of this game, if that is the case it works out nicely if you make sure that there is at least one experienced player in each group.
